Introduction

Front

Few dryers have a simpler set of controls than the {{product.name}}, with a simple knob and a few buttons. This dryer is stackable with the matching GFWN1100LWW washer, and feels extremely sturdy and well-built.

The very small lint trap is also easy to clean. If you stop a cycle mid-way through, the display will remind you to clean the lint trap the next time the dryer is turned on.

Speed & Performance Overview

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

This is a remarkably quick dryer. Only the normal cycle took longer than an hour -- five minutes longer, to be exact.

Normal Cycle Performance

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

While it took longer than other cycles, the {{product.name}}'s Normal cycle was on par with its competitors. It did, however, leave a little moisture behind in each load we tested.

Delicates Cycle Performance

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

When a dryer tells you how long it'll take to wash delicate fabrics, never trust it. Perhaps if we were drying silk and orchid petals, estimates would be accurate. At least the {{product.name}} only took 46 minutes to get almost all of the moisture out of our test load.

Bulky Cycle Performance

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

In just 58 minutes, the {{product.name}} took a load of towels and sheets from wet to bone dry. It did, however, reach 150 degrees in the process.

Quick Dry Cycle Performance

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

Taking over 40 minutes to remove almost as much moisture as a normal cycle, the Quick Dry cycle only lived up to one part of its name. Still, it got clothes dry -- which is more than can be said for other dryers' quick cycles.

Dry Cycles

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

If you buy the {{product.name}}, you'll have few options: Cottons, mixed loads, delicates, speed dry, air fluff and time dry. That's it. No more, no less.

Customization

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

With two buttons on the side of the dryer, one can change the sensitivity of the drying sensor or the temperature of a cycle. An extra tumble can be added to a cycle, as well. Other than that, there aren't any custom functions, and there's no preset for a custom user cycle.

Additional Drying Options

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

Aside from adding a tumble or changing the time on the Timed Dry setting, the {{product.name}} has no additional drying options.

Controls

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

With so few wash cycles and options, the {{product.name}} is very simple to use. Within a cycle, one can customize it by changing the temperature or the sensitivity of the drying sensor.

Door

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

The door can be hinged on either the left or right, and opens and closes easily.

Lint Trap

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

The very small lint trap is also easy to clean. If you stop a cycle mid-way through, the display will remind you to clean the lint trap the next time the dryer is turned on.

Conclusion

{{section_header}}{{section.name}}{{/section_header}}

The GFDN110ELWW is an excellent dryer considering that its MSRP is only $749 and sale prices fall far below that. It does run a little hot, so make sure you keep an eye on your delicate fabrics. This dryer also lacks fancy features, but it does a better job getting moisture out of laundry than many models that cost twice as much.
