This Tiny Clothes Washer Is For Babies and the People Who Change Them

The Samsung BabyCare washer is a hit in Korea, but will it translate to the U.S.?

Cloth diaper fans rejoice: Samsung has released a new washing machine that's custom made for cleaning up after babies.

The Samsung Baby Care debuted at the company's Atelier event in New York City, and it's unlike anything else on the market in the U.S.

At just 0.9 cubic feet, it's just big enough to clean diapers and baby clothes. Size-wise, it's the polar opposite of the world's largest washer, the Samsung WF56H9100AG.

The Baby Care washer sells for $599 in white, or $699 in onyx.

The washer can either be permanently attached to a water supply or hooked up to a sink, and it's designed to be a complement to a larger machine. On the Super Sanitize cycle, it's capable of reaching temperatures as high as 198ºF, and it can add up to seven rinse cycles to keep detergent from irritating delicate skin.

There's 0.9 cubic feet of space for little ones' laundry.

Samsung representatives told us that miniature washers like this are a popular baby shower gift in Korea, and the company is looking to repeat its success in the U.S. Even if you don't have babies, the diminutive washer is also a good fit for use in RVs, boats, and small apartments.

The Super Sanitize cycle gets as hot as 198ºF.

The Samsung WB09H7300GP Baby Care washer goes on sale June 15th, with a $499 MSRP for a white finish and a $599 MSRP for light gray.
