A lot of our readers tell us that when they’re looking for a new appliance, they’re looking to spend $1,000 or less. Usually, that’s enough to get you a decent fridge, oven, or washer. But occasionally, it’ll get you a whole lot more.

Case in point: Through July 13, LG is offering its Twin Wash system—including the highly rated WM3170CW front-load washer and the companion WD100CW SideKick pedestal washer—for a grand total of $999. Yep, that’s two washers for under a grand.

Hands-On With the LG WD100CV TwinWash System

If you’re not familiar with the Twin Wash concept, it’s pretty simple. You know how front-load washers are often sold with risers, since it’s a pain to bend over to load and unload them? Well, LG put a second, smaller, top-load washer inside the riser, so you can do a separate load of delicates while you launder heavier stuff in the main washer. Genius, no?

Still, there are a couple caveats to this deal. First, it only lasts through July 13 at participating retailers. Second, you need to fill out a rebate form to get $100 back, in the form of a Visa prepaid card. That means you’ll be paying $1,100 (plus tax) out the door.

Regardless, this is a great deal for anyone in the market for a modern washer that won’t destroy clothes or waste water. And hey, depending on where you live, you could also collect hundreds of dollars in rebates from local utilities.
